What is ERO?
The Education Review Office (ERO) asks questions about how schools are helping students to learn and achieve. It reports back to schools, communities and the Government so that they know what is working and what can be improved.
What is the survey about and why is it important?
We know that attending school helps students to achieve, and so we are talking to schools, students, and parents and whānau to understand what helps students attend school regularly. The findings will inform ERO’s recommendations about what government and schools can do to improve attendance.
Participation is voluntary and confidential
There are no consequences for you or your child if you don’t do the survey
Your responses will inform ERO’s report, but no people or schools will be identified in the report.
Your individual responses won’t be shared with anyone outside of ERO – they won’t be shared with your child’s school.
Your responses will come direct to us and will be treated confidentially until the research data is destroyed (2 years after the end of the project).
